Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>customize (more info?)

Am new to Windows XP Home Edition. Whenever I delete or
add a shortcut on one user's desktop, it deletes or adds
the shortcut on all user's desktops. How can I customize
the shortcuts on individual user destops. Microsoft
documentation on this matter is abysmal. Thaanks for
your help.

If you go to my computer, c:, documents and settings, you will find a folder
for each individual user, as well as a folder for all users. Each of these
folders has subfolders for the desktop, and that is how you can place items
into each person's desktop, or onto all peoples' desktops.
