hi,
just a simple question;

I have Win XP with SP1 installed on my computer, but because of my slow
internet I can't download updates. I also have a win XP with SP2 CD. Can I
use this CD to upgrade my current version of windows without any major
changes to my current OS configuration and installed programs? and if
yes, how?

Thanks for help....

Hi

If the CD is one with SP2 integrated into it, you can upgrade your existing
version with it. Your files, programs and settings should intact, but you
may like to backup any valuable data files beforehand.

Thank you Will;
By the way, you mean that I have to choose "Upgrade(recommended)" from the
install drop-down box?

Thanks again.

Hi

Yes, if you choose the other option (New?) you will delete all that is
installed at the moment. The Upgrade option should retain everything.
