Windows updates get downloaded, but they won't install.

MS sent me a fix, but it didn't work.

Anyone have any ideas?

Firstly what fix did MS send you so that we don't repeat what you have
already tried.

Hi,

What happens when you try to install them?
Have you tried disabling your antivirus application?
Have you checked the windowsupdate.log file for error messages?

They download. but installation fails. I've tried disabling NAV, and
the update log doesn't seem to be getting updated...most entries are
from 2004 and earlier this year.

Hi,

Newest entries in the update log are at the bottom. Make sure you are
reading windowsupdate.log and not "windows update.log" (with a space).

Hi,

Owner does not necessarily mean administrator. Try logging on as
administrator.
