Post subject: Unable to connect to Remote Desktop
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support (more info?)

For the last year or so I've been able to connect to my work machine
using VPN and Remote Desktop. All of a sudden, in the last couple
weeks Remote Desktop is not longer able to connect. The VPN connection
is successful. I've tried so many things - uninstalled all anti-virus
software, disabled firewall, checked security access, checked remote
access. I've used qwinsta tool and netstat to verify that Terminal
Services is listening. When I use Telnet serv 3389 using either the
machine name or IP address the connection fails. The only thing I
haven't tried is changing the port address to something other than 3389
but I definitely don't want to do this unless it's a last resort since I
do not feel comfortable changing registry entries.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
I'm stuck!
