I had a system collapse and after a complete re- install of XP my usb ports
will not pick up files from Pen Drives etc without problems. I bought a
D-Link USB 2 hub and when I plug it in and then plug another device into the
PC itself the Hub drops all connections. WMV files will not play off a usb
pen drive on my PC but will on a laptop Any help welcome Have uninstalled all
usb devices and reinstalled but still same problem.

Try the USB ports on your computer instead of the hub.

Have done that and found that some files will not play off usb pen like wmv
and some pics. Have been advised by mate to check if I installed a
motherboard driver after re - install. Don't think I did so that is next step
