Post subject: Another "System Restore" Question
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>basics (more info?)

I have a "C" drive which is partitioned and a second harddrive "S".
Systerm Restore is turned off except for the "C" drive. So far, over six
months, System Restore has made not one restore point. I do them
manually, and I've had opportunity to use the restore function, which
worked perfectly.

Why isn't System Restore creating restore points on its own ??
TIA

rightclick mycomputer properties system restore. does it show status 'c'
drive monitoring? turn off system restore reboot do same but turn it on.
make sure status shows your 'c' drive. Sometimes that will work if you have
plenty of space on 'c'.

I'm primarily curious because I have no problem doing the restore point
manually. Thanks for the links. I will go there. Just to continue - Yes, I
have approximately 15.6GB of free space on the drive. I have shut off
monitoring "C" several times to dump old restore points I created that are
over a month old. I do have the space reserved for System Restore cut
down to 5% which lists 1096MB available for the process. I only
"monitor" drive "C".
Thanks, again

Hi Regina,

Take a look at this page in particular.
