Post subject: Switching monitors causes Explorer to crash - EACH time...
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>customize (more info?)

In my office I have a docking station with an attached bigger screen.
Whenever I switch my monitor configuration after docking (to make use of
that monitor as my primary display) or before deteaching (switching back
to my laptops built-in LCD) Windows Explorer "has a problem and needs to
close" (i.e. it crashes...).

WinXP shows this pittyful behaviour already since years and no update
nor patch ever fixed this. Isn't there ANYTHING that one can do to allow
WinXP to decently switch monitors without Explorer crashing?

Michael
