Suite Integration Toolkit

When I shut XP down yesterday, I was told that it was going to install
an update unless I clicked "close without installing update" I clicked this
and it seems that XP installed it anyway. Today, Zone Alarm Pro is telling
me that something called Suite Integration ToolKit is trying to access
the Internet. After I deny that, I get Microsoft Installer is trying to access
the Internet. What is this Suite Integration Toolkit?
Also I am getting a pop up that says "the update was almost complete,
but you need to restart your computer"
I have googled Suite Integration Toolkit and most all the posts are old.
I have found a few people who are asking the same question without
an answer. Any help?

It doesn't really matter that the Google links are older, if you look at a
number of them you'll see that the common factor is Visual Studio Express
or Visual Studio, an MS product for programming (I'm probably
over-simplifying what the software does because I'm not a programmer).

You need to figure out what got updated/installed. Look in Add/Remove
Programs (tick the box that says to show updates) and see if you can
identify what got updated. Or do a System Restore to before this happened.

Another way of approaching this is to manage your startup to see what
program that uses this tool is starting with Windows.

It is always better to stop programs from starting with Windows from within
the programs themselves, so look in their Options before changing anything
with msconfig - you're just examining things at this stage. If a program
doesn't offer any way to control startup from its Preferences, then use
msconfig to uncheck the box next to its name, Apply and OK out.

For XP:

Start>Run>msconfig [enter]

This brings up the System Configuration Utility. Look on the Startup tab and
find the probable culprit. Uncheck the box next to its name, Apply and OK
out. You don't need to restart immediately, but the next time you do you'll
get a dialog saying you've used the Utility. Just tick the box that says in
effect, "don't bother me about this again".

Important - Do not use the System Configuration Utility to stop processes.
Instead, use Start>Run>services.msc [enter] and do not stop any services
unless you really, really know what you're doing.
