Hey, my freind helped me through remote assitance last time and stopped a
program from running last time, but he didn't use windows task messenger, he
used 'run' and typed something in then a window popped up and he right
clicked on some stuff and paused/stopped the program from running, I'd like
to know how to do this because norton anti virus is preventing me from
checking my email.

If Norton is the problem - right click tray icon and select disable.

Sounds like it may have been MSconfig. Click on the startup tab to see what
is set to run when your system starts.
Uncheck it to turn it off. Also see if the program in question has an option
to load on startup.
Good luck.
