Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>customize (more info?)

I am using XP home edition. Under the Start Menu, All Programs..I was once
able to right click and choose options like Sort Programs Alphabetically,
etc. Now when I try to access this menu an empty gray box flashes for about
1 sec. I no longer have access to any of those options previously listed.
Can anyone suggest a solution as to what I might have done to cause this?

Thanks in advance for your help,
James

Right click the Start button, select Properties, Customize, Enable dragging
and dropping.

Doug,

Many thanks for your response. However, when I right click on the Start
button, then select Properties, Customize, Advanced, the Enable dragging &
dropping option is already "checked". Any other suggestions that you might
have would be appreciated.
Thanks,
James
