Hi,

I noticed that my cpu usage was always pretty high, Like it would jump to
25% at idle. I looked in task manager and found the sidebar process
continued to run after I closed the sidebar. It would spike up to 24%.
Anyone know why this is and how do I stop it? Just stop the process?

Presumably one of the gadgets on the sidebar does something every so
often. If you "close" the sidebar, it is just hidden - you'll probably
find that there is still a Windows Sidebar icon in the system tray. If
you right-click the icon and select "exit", the process should stop.

If you don't use the sidebar, you can prevent it from starting when
Windows starts. Right click the icon and select properties (or if there
is no icon in the system tray, go to Control Panel and open Windows
Sidebar Properties), uncheck "Start sidebar when Windows starts", and
click OK.
