I was just issued a used computer from my company and noticed that it does
not have the Show Desktop icon on the quick launch. I'm using win XP, how can
I have that Icon back on the taskbar?

From MVP Rick Rogers - Copy/paste the below into notepad, then click
file/"save as" and call it "show desktop.scf" and drop it on the
desktop. You can drag it from there to the quicklaunch bar.

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=EXPLORER.EXE,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

1. Open Notepad,
2. Copy/Paste following lines in it :

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

3. Click File, Save as..
4. Copy/Paste the following line in File name box :
%appdata%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\Show Desktop.scf
5. Click OK

Good Luck, Ayush.
