I just bought a new computer. (Windows XP - SP3)

Under Power Options - Advanced, I selected "Hibernate" for "When I
press the sleep button on my computer".

OK - I press the button (actually it is on my keyboard).
The computer goes into hibernation mode - Great!

But then, about 10 - 15 seconds later, it "un-hibernates"and starts up
again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

First verify that it is hibernating and not going into standby. If in
standby, mouse movement or keyboard action (if configured)
will bring it out of standby. Also if standby and no mouse movement or
keyboard action, go into BIOS and reset 'wake on LAN'. Verify you have
nothing scheduled. Faulty power supply can also cause this. Do you have good
ground connection?

RESOLVED!
Actually, it was a setting on the Intel 82566DC Gigabit Network
Connection card.
Under "Power Management" there's an option "Allow this device to bring
the computer out of standby".
Unchecking that option solved the problem.
