Saving Logitech WebCam video as MPG

I have a Logitech QuickCam Fusion. When I create a video, and then play it
back in my Windows Media Player 10, it works just fine. But when I save it
to my hard drive, my WMP does not give me a choice as to what format I want
to save it in. It always says "Save as all files".
I need to save these videos as (preferably) MPG, or possibly as a WMV.
Can anyone help me solve my problem? I have worried with this problem for
months and cannot find a solution.
Thanks in advance for anyone who helps me.

Import it into Windows Movie Maker and save it as a WMV from that
application.
