I go to settings- control panel- Add/Remove Programs. After the screen is
populated with programs (many of which I have never seen before) there is no
REMOVE button. I have used Add/Remove successfully in the past and never
seen this before. Any clue as to the reason/cure?

Unfortunately when I got the "uninstall" folder under using regedit (as
described at the URL below) there are no application or program names.
I should note here that there isn't any program or applications in the
Add/Remove list which have a change/remove button
