Last year I suffered a MFT coruption / crash on my boot drive C: I
replaced the drive and been working fine since. Now, I would like to
retreive the data for that old drive. I finally got an external hard
drive enclosure (http://www.acomdata.com/hdp/
harddrives_701_enclosure.html), downloaded TestDisk (http://
www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk) and System Rescue CD (http://
www.sysresccd.org/Download)

Would I be able to "salvage" anything?

Easy enough to find out by sticking the drive in the external enclosure and
attaching it to your working Windows machine. If nothing is seen,
temporarily attach the drive internally and run data recovery software on
it.

What you can do if your hard drive is not suffered physical crash then
you can attached your hard drive as a slave on different computer.
Download the demo version of Stellar Phoenix Windows data recovery
software. Run data recovery software and scan your hard drive. If the
software is able to show you the preview of the recovered data then
get the full version to save your data. Stellar Phoenix Windows data
recovery software is a file and partition recovery utility which works
on FAT 16, Fat 32, NTFS & NTFS5 file system.

You can download the demo version from:http://www.stellarinfo.com/

You don't learn about the Stellar spam cr*p, do you? No one legitimate is
going to use your product since you spam the newsgroups with it. You've
shot yourself in the foot. Advertise in acceptable channels instead.
