I have been running Vista for some time on a new machine. Non responsive
programs are a daily, no make that an hourly occurance. Most of the time
they end up launching successfully or overcoming the hanging problem, but
quite often Vista will warn that the program needs to shut down. The program
that seems most susceptible to this is CorelDraw X3 although it does it on
all programs including Windows mail.
Is this normal behaviour? Windows XP very rarely caused problems.

I agree that it is a regular problem. I do not use CorelDraw, but other
programs at random will lock up. My only option is to turn the computer off
to reboot. It is very frustrating

Hi Steve,
You might check to see if it is a security or antivirus program that
may be causing these problems. My firewall program has a Defense option
that will stop some programs actions in Vista until I approve them. Test
and see by temporarily turning it off.
Hope this helps,
Shawn
