I have ten Dell computers with Windows XP Professional service pack 2 and
several HP LaserJet printers (LaserJet 4 Plus) with jetdirect cards connected
via CAT5 and a few hubs in a workgroup setting.
One of the PC’s is having a printing problem. When printing out various
types of documents it is dropping off several graphics (ie. table borders,
underlines, etc.) but prints the text and pictures fine. The documents are
printing fine from all other PC’s to the same printer.
Thinking I had a corrupt driver I deleted the printer and the print driver
(UNIDRV.DLL) from the print server properties screen, rebooted and
reinstalled the printer. I’m assuming it copied a new print driver from the
original source.
Problem not solved.
I downloaded and installed the LJ4Plus drivers from HP. Does not print
correctly. Prints a few lines on several pages.
I also tried different LJ4 drivers in Windows and found the LJ4000 prints
graphics well but it prints several copies.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
