Post subject: Plug and Play error
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>basics (more info?)

Was trying to install a device which was not compatible with xp, some
how I messed up and over wrote one system file which killed my plug and
play. Because of which a lot of other services have stopped. Like CD
Drive, sound cards etc.

Now I have tried uninstalling and installing as mentioned in code 39
information at microsoft.

I have also went to services and saw the plug and play is automatic.

I guess the only solution will be to replace the system file and I
don't know how to do that, or which file to replace.

Is there some package which I can download and install.

Cheers,

Uri
