Post subject: My Pictures Screen Saver issue

I posted this yesterday in the XP General Discussion Group, but didn't get
any resolution, so I am repeating the post here:
I have been using My Pictures Slideshow as a screen saver for some time
(perhaps 2 to 3 years), but note that photos from the last 2 years are never
displayed. (I have been using a digital camera since 2003, and only photos
from 2003 through early 2006 seemed to get displayed.) All photos in My
Pictures are in subfolders named by shooting date. Does anyone have any idea
why the more recent photos not being displayed? TIA |

Hello,
How many pictures do you have in total that you're trying to cycle
through, and are the "randomized"? I've read of a limit of 4,500, but
can't find anything from Microsoft. If you temporarily move the
earlier ones out of the store folder, do the later ones show? |

Thanks for responding. I have approximately 3900 photos. I moved all the 2007
photos to a separate folder, chose that as the folder and the screen saver
slide show works. Perhaps there is a limit, which is frustrating, as I would
like the screen saver to be a random selection of ALL my pics. I guess I'll
need to look for another program to use. |
