For some reason, Vista Home Premium is telling me I need permission to make
changes. I set this laptop with only one user...me. Am I missing something.
How do I change permissions so that I have full administrative control over
everything?

Thanks

Does it say "Windows needs your permission to continue" with "Continue" and
"Cancel" buttons, or does it ask for a username and password?

If it is asking for a username and password, it probably means that your
user account is not set up as an administrative user. There are actually
lots of good reasons to not run as an administrator (for one, it makes it
much harder for viruses to infect your computer).

But, if you're willing to take the risk of running as an administrator, open
the Start menu, type in "User accounts", and press Enter. Click on the link
"Change your account type" and select "Administrator".
