I have tried to copy and paste a text resume from my desktop to an area on a
staffing agency web page but when I right click in the paste area there is
no paste option in the box. Is there a way to fix this problem?

Try:
Left click once to place the cursor and press CTRL+V.

I tried your suggestion and the cursor appeared in the paste area but CRTL-V
had no effect.

Open the text file, press Ctrl/A to highlight all, copy, paste to the
web site. You can't copy/paste the file itself off the desktop.
