It's the Windows swap file, or paging file.

If needed, you can manually set its size, but it's best to let Windows
manage it.

That is the file used by Windows XP for virtual memory, memory used
above and beyond installed physical memory or RAM. A good article that

compensating to your less ram (memory)

It's the windows temp file, also known as the page file. Let windows set
it and manage it for best results.

The more ram you have, the less Windows will want to use 'temp" memory.

And, what is the default swapfile size if 768MB of RAM?
The OP message says his/her swapfile is approximatley 1GB. Which of course
you deleted in the previous reply.
