I have had windows XP for a few years now but just decided to set up a
separate account for my wife. She has some messages on outlook express that
when I try to use import/export to move over I can do the export part but
when I try to import using her account I get this message
"messages cannot be imported from mapi client, no profiles are configured on
this computer"
What steps do I need to do to cure this problem

If you had read the message on the "Export" dialog box, you would have seen
that the "Export" function ONLY exports to Outlook or Exchange. In OE, in
your Wife's User Account, use the Import function, navigate to where the
original message store is, and import the folders you want.

QED. (That's Quite Easily Done!)
