Notepad Stopped Working

Hi,
I'm running Win XP Home edition. For some reason notepad
has stopped working. It won't start when I click on a
text file, even though the file in question is indeed
associated with notepad.

Does anyone know how to re-install just notepad?

There are a number of viruses that target .exe files, specifically the
notepad.exe.

I suggest making sure your antivirus program is up to date and run a
complete scan on your system.
