Post subject: Network Connection Properties issue trying to reserve and IP
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

I am trying to reserve an IP for my computer, but when I went to the
properties of my wireless network connection, the connection properties
window is missing everything except for Client for Microsoft Networks. Even
the connect using field has nothing in it. The wireless connection is
working, but I can't get to the TCP/IP protocol to reserve the IP instead of
using DHCP. Here is an image of the issue.

An screen cap of my wireless network connection properties can be seen here:

Has anyone ever seen this? Any ideas to fix it? Thanks for any info.

I forgot to mention that when I click the install button and click either
client, service, or protocol, I get an error message that says "Could not add
the requested component. The error is: The system cannot find the file
specified", so I can't reinstall the TCP/IP Protocol to reserve the IP.
