Post subject: Missing subfolders
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windows>vista>mail (more info?)

Hi.
I recently lost a group of subfolders I was holding on to in my Windows Mail
Folders. They just ceased to exist. In them was some important travel and
expense information.

Can you tell me where to look for them? Step by step. I have already tried
the simple searches as recommended by Microsoft. They are no place to be
found. I fear they were deleted completely.

I am running Vista Home Premium and I am a intermediate type problem solver
if that helps. I am past the simple stuff.

You can find the hard drive location by looking here:
Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance, Store Folder...
For most, that location will be
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail.
From there, click on Local Folders. Each message is stored in an
individual file with a cryptic name like 0BB32EA6-0000045E.eml.

Make sure your PC is configured to show 'hidden' files.
