I just got a new computer. My old computer has windows XP and the new one has
Windows 2000. I tried to install windows XP on the new one but I don't have
the serial number anymore... help?

It the copy of XP came pre-installed on the old computer you cannot transfer
the license to another computer anyway. If you purchased it at retail you
need proof of purchase, the COA, or at least the box to replace the product
key. If you have any thing proving that you own XP you can contact MS for a
new pk.

I don't have those things though - the other computer was a hand-me-down and
didn't come with anything.

You can retrieve the PK from old Windows using some free utilities: google
for "jellybeans"

If you did not get a XP CD key with the hand-me down PC or / and no Xp
CD, then you are not "entitled" to you this Xp legally.

Number Lock upon Reboot - I know there is a way to have the Number Lock automatically turn on when booting up the computer. My computer, presently, needs me to manually turn it on at the keyboard whenever I reboot the computer. Is there a way to override this need to manuall...

XP startup error - 00 USB serial device error - I run an Emachines M5116, with Windows XP Home edition. When I plug the mouse/keyboard in, it works fine, but I sometimes have to restart 3 - 4 times. Sometimes at start up it says "00 USB serial device error" and refuses to recognise the star...
