In the past couple of weeks the pause or dwell time when i am working in
Windows has suddenly become very short. For example, if I stop typing in
this box for more than a few seconds the cursor jumps back to the beginning
of the box. The same kind of thing happens when I am trying to edit a
filename. If I don't keep key strokes going the cursor jumps out of the
editing box. I have SP3 loaded and have not added any software recently.
Any idea what is going on?

This might help, though it won't help discover what program is stealing
focus:

Line 66. (r-h column) Prevent Programs from Stealing Focus - Undo
