I hope this is the right place to post. I am having a major problem
with Media Player 9.0. Have been using it all day just fine. Have been
using the site at http://www.allmusic.com/ to check out some songs and
it has been working great. Stepped away and came back to see another
song and when I clicked on it I got this message on Media Player. "the
source filter for this file could not be loaded" when I went to the
information button got error message 80040241. I thought maybe it was
just that song but went to songs that I had just listened to and the
same problem. I rebooted explorer and then the whole machine. Still
nothing is working to make it work. I am running windows xp. If anyone
can help would really appreciate it. I went to the microsoft site but
it was of no help. Help please. Thanks for all time and help.

WMP must have a corrupt file or two,go to WM home, downloads, locate
WMP 9 series (it only list 2k,98,and ME i believe) but it will select the
right
files for xp auto.Install the download,WMP installations 1st remove the old
files before the new are installed, hence, new WMP installation.....

I'm getting the exact same thing. Started all of a sudden this evening.
Amazon works fine, but All Music and also BMG will no longer play the files.
I get the same error. (I even upgraded to WM 10 with no better luck.)
