difference?

I think that windows Live is the umbrella title for the slew of new stuff
Microsoft has come out with. "Windows Live Mail" is the browser based email
program, or the new Hotmail. Windows Mail is Vistas version of Outlook
Express that was a part of XP. Hope this helped,

Windows Mail comes with Vista and will work with POP3 and IMAP accounts.
Windows Live Hotmail is the new Hotmail and is accessible through a browser.
Windows Live Mail is a downloadable desktop application that works with POP3
and IMAP accounts plus Windows Live Hotmail (or old Hotmail accounts).
Windows Live Mail will also work with WinXP SP2.

There are of course other differences.

Very cool. I had not heard of Windows Live Mail. I thought Lupe was talking
about the Windows Live Hotmail. I might have to give it a try. I had
wondered why Windows Mail would not even get messages for an HTTP server
since hotmail is on one. Any chance of Windows Mail getting the features of
Windows Live Mail? I really like Windows Mail's Newsgroup's. they are very
handy. If Windows Live Mail had newsgroups that are set up similar to
Windows Mail I will definitely make the swap! Thanks for the info and
setting me and Lupe straight.

Microsoft is now putting most of their email effort toward Windows Live
Mail,
so Windows Mail isn't likely to get much in the way of updates.

You might want to look in the newsgroup for Windows Live Mail:

microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop
