hey all. I am having trouble with logging off the user names on my desktop.
This all started last week when I upgraded to Internet Explorer 7. What
happens is that I go to Start, Log Off, and then hit Log off. But the
computer doesn't do anything. I took it to my local computer repair shop and
they told me it was fixed. When it came back tonight, I was able to log off
from the start menu only once. In order for me to log off, I have to go
through the Task Manager. What is wrong? My computer is 7 years old and
running Windows XP Professional SP2. Please help.

Hi,

Have you checked the Event Viewer for clues (Start => Run and type in
"eventvwr.msc" {without the quotes})
Look for Errors/Warnings in System and Applications at about the time
of the logoff failure.
