Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>help_and_support (more info?)

I have just downloaded some new updates for my Nero OEM version 6...I
downloaded these updates and saved to my desktop..

My question is what is the best way to install these updates.. should I just
open up file and run it as is , or,, should I uninstall previous version of
Nero first and then install new version... what about virus
protection...should this be disabled when I do install new version or is okay
to leave on....
anyone with some solutions to my issue,,,please help.....don't want to go at
this the wrong way,,,,,

This sounds like a question for Nero (aHead) technical support.

However - if what you downloaded was actually 'updates' for the version you
currently have installed and not a new version - uninstalling the version
you currenntly have installed would leave the 'updates' with nothing to do.

As for the Antivirus protection... I have seldom seen severe issues when
leaving AV software running while installaing such things - although there
have been exceptions. Again - however - you should really ask the tech
support for your product - not a Windows XP Help and Support group. After
all - Nero is not a Microsoft product.
