Hello, I have a slight problem installing service pack 2. I recently
re-formatted my computer, installed XP with service pack 1 and had to
activate it via the telephone. This all worked fine i until I had to install
service pack 2. what ever I try it freezes when it say it is checking the
product key. either from the microsoft update site or the downloaded version.
is there anyone who can help me. Oh yes it doesn't matter if I doo all the
updates from the update system or not.

There may be several reasons of which I found out when I updated. Some of
which are; did you check all your software for updates required, how about
all updates required for your specific hardware.

Now If allthat was done in the affirmitive, you may still need to call the
support help line at Microsoft. After several attempts following their
instruction they gave me a tech download of SP2 instead of the normal
download. Whamo it worked great and haven't had a trouble since.
