P5B BIOS rev ##Updated to 1803## (also tested on 1604 w/o success)
4GB Kingston VR (Have dropped it to 1GB while t/s no change)
2 SATA in AHCI (have tried IDE and disabling the Jmicron controller while
t/s no change)
GeForce 8600 PCIE x16
E6550 Core Duo

Everything in the bios displays properly, no major changes made (just RAM
changes so it could recognize 4GB.)

Tried 2 x Windows XP SP2 cd's.

When booting from an XP cd, The typical line "searching for components..."
(not ver batim) displays and then just a blank screen (not the usual blue
screen that asks for driver updates etc.)

Windows Server 2k3 from the CD boots as intended. - def an XP problem

I've searched high and low for an answer. Any help is appreciated.

You've tried clearing the cmos, setting bios to defaults, deleting
partitions, removed all 'extra' hw leaving a single stick, 1x hd, 1x cd?

Thanks for the response DL:

Yes, I tore it down the the absolute basics. The only thing I haven't done
is clear the CMOS.

Both HDD were used before, however, and do have data on them. Do you think
this would somehow cause an affect as described? I can try loading Knoppix
to reformat a drive to see what happens I guess.
