I have a lot of photographs on my Vista computer. When I try to find a
photograph ina folder the icon does not show me what the photograph looks
like. It is just a generic mountain and lake scene for every picture. How can
I turn on the actual picture to be depicted in the icon of the file?
Thank you for your help.

Tools>Folder Options. On the View tab uncheck Always show icons, never
thumbnails.

Only I have no tools or options showing. It's very strange.

My menu choices are organize, view, explore, slide show, email, share,
and burn. This is when I have the folders set to properties>customize>
folder type template> pictures and videos.

I've tried right clicking on the folder an don the menu area and can
not get tools anywhere. Can someone please explain further?

The Menu bar is hidden by default. Hold the ALT key and press T to access
the "Tools" menu.

Thank you all - it should show them by default - it was driving me mad as well.
