I would like to hide the taskbar but show the clock on the lower corner of
the screen. Can it be done?

Sorry - the clock is part of the taskbar. However, you can always get
yourself a third-party clock program, probably for free, from the Internet.

What do you mean by "taskbar"? Are you referring to the whole bar at the bottom of the screen or the system tray (notification
area) with all the little icons (eg network connection, volume control, etc.) jammed together?

I mean the whole bar at the bottom of the screen.

If it is possible to show the clock with the system tray, while hiding the
rest of the taskbar, it would also be of interest.

If the whole taskbar is gone (where? you mean close it altogether or auto-hide it?) then where exactly would the tray and clock be,
floating around some random spot on the desktop?

You'll need to specify exactly what you want because the tray and clock are a part of the taskbar so your request is pretty
confusing. It's like asking if you can "hide the wheels of a car while keeping the rest shown".

Yes, I am auto-hiding the taskbar. I would like to see the time even when
the rest of taskbar is hidden. The clock should appear at a corner of the
screen (with or without the system tray). Can it be done?

If you use a third party clock yes. There's no way to rip out the clock from the taskbar and show it separately (well it might be,
but it's infinitely quicker and easier to just use a clock app.)
