Hi readers,
hoping someone can help with this. I have a toshiba
laptop , which states in the manual that there is a 1.5GB hidden Recovery
partition
i have failed to find it. somehow i get the feeling that its not installed.
have checked out Disk management, nothing visible as hidden.
Have gone through reboot and F8 ,no selection for 'Repair you computer'
which manual states.
Have checked out recovery disk that looks in order. This laptop is just
about 3mths old.

What is the model number of this Toshiba? Since it is only three months
old, did it come with XP or Vista? What kind of recovery disk did it
come with? Or did you have to burn your own? |

Hi Daave,
Details you ask of . toshiba Satelit Pro A200. I asked
specifically for XP Pro, it came with a Product Recovery disk
i looked at this ,this morning. Altered the boot setup to cd/dvd, initially
on loading it multi lingual after selection then there are
2 options for installing , format the disk or recovery.

Then perhaps the manual is incorrect. As long as you have the Recovery
disk (actually, I thought it was 2 Recovery DVD-ROMs), you should be
okay.
Then again, you could always post to the Toshiba support forum.

Go to Start, Control Panel, Folder Options, View, Advanced Settings and
verify that the box before "Show hidden files and folders" is checked
and "Hide protected operating system files " is unchecked. You may need
to scroll down to see the second item. You should also make certain that
the box before "Hide extensions for known file types" is not checked.
Next in Windows Explorer make sure View, Details is selected and then
select View, Choose Details and check before Name, Type, Total Size, and
Free Space.

Hope this helps.

Usually you access the hidden recovery via key strokes on booting or via the
recovery disk.
Its hidden because they dont want people deleting it
