Windows XP Pro, Dell 4100 system, ATA-66 or ATA-100 Ultra DMA hard drive. A
recent disk check showed an error in one sector. Elsewhere in this NG, it
was recommended that I get a new hard drive ASAP. I have only one now
although there are two bays. It is 20 gb. Can I replace that with a 100 gb
or any size gb hard drive or am I limited to the 20? Can I just add it to
the remaining bay?

You should be able to upgrade the hard drive in your laptop fairly easily.
However I suggest you might have better success by posting your question

You should be able to put any GB size you want as long as you cab fit it in
the bay or even hang it out side. As long as the cable and HD match.

My Dell 4100 will not support drives that are larger than 137GB.
This is because the BIOS does not support 48Bit LBA.

48Bit LBA Info:

OK, but my computer is a desk model, not a laptop.
