HELP! F2 shortcut key to rename file/folder no longer work..

In Windows I have always been able to click on a file or folder in
Explorer and press F2 and it would immediately go into Rename mode.
Not only is this a great convenience for renaming files, more
importantly you can press CTRL-C to copy the filename to the clipboard
(if you want you can then click on the address bar at the top of the
window, press END, type backslash and CTRL-V paste in the name, press
SHIFT-HOME and CTRL-C and you have the file's entire name/path in the
clipboard). It's a very convenient/fast way to get file names/paths
into the clipboard, particularly if you are into keyboard shortcuts
like I am (much faster than the mouse) and like to use START>RUN
(press Windows key then R then CTRL-V) to open windows or files.

Anyway, in the past day or so, F2 no longer is working in Explorer to
rename a file. The only way to go into rename mode is to click the
file and wait a second (very annoying).

More importantly I am wondering if this is a symptom that I have been
infected with a keylogger.

Any suggestions or advice on how to reactivate F2 (and more
importantly flush out any keyloggers!) would be most appreciated!

Have you tried a system restore?.
