The first is; My father's computer always gives him a dropdown box that
contains all the things he typed into his computer such as websites and it
saved his e-mail address. It was alphabetical.
Do I need to install some other sort of download from Microsoft to get these
extras?
Second; is I downloaded DirectX, but it will not run. What do I do? Is it
some sort of
run command I have to enter?
Third is; I downloaded the 3.0 .Net Redistributable and that will not run.
It states I don't have the required " stuff " to run it. Is there something I
can download from
Microsoft that will run it?
Thank you for your time and patience.
Sincerely,
Kevin |

Item 1 on your list!
Select from the Menu in Internet Explorer View, Explorer Bar, Favourites
and History. You can have one or the other to display normally to the
left of the main window. History will display sites visited but
Favourites once you have built your list is potentionally more useful.
Select Help, Contents and Index and search on "Favourites" and "History"
to find out more about each.

Hope this helps.

Items 2 and 3, DirectX and DotNet are run automatically when a program needs
them.
In IE, Tools | Internet Options | Content click AutoComplete and enable what
you want.
What email program?

I don't think so. Do you mean the dropdown box in "Internet Explorer" ??

Reinstalling DirectX may fix the problem. However, if the problem still
exists after reinstalling it, contact Microsoft and see if they can help.

I did not receive the message when I installed NET Framework. Did you get
the setup file from Microsoft Downloads? Various setup files for the NET
Framework need additional components (product keys, other versions of NET
etc.) If not, get the copy of it from MS Downloads.
