Fonts

How do I get rid of all the fonts I don't want to use?
I tried moving them to another folder I created, but that caused problems
with my word processor (Works 4.0- old but reliable) which now:
1) gives me an Out of Memory message saying Works cannot update the
screenfonts properly.
2) when I select a font, it does not stay selected and reverts back to the
Times Roman default.
I put all the moved fonts back, but the problem still persists.
Any thoughts?
