Just moved from W98SE to Vista Home Premium... major leap.
Tried all settings for Windows Explorer, using the classical view, but cannot detect the old
practical info at the bottom of the frame - in fact there seems to be no bottomborder, the page just
ssems to continue under the taskbar -
e.g. 43 items 2 hidden 3.43 MB This computer
Any clues how to make those elementary data visible again?

Hi Maria. IS the window under the Taskbar? If you maximize the window, do
you see the Status Bar? You can move the window around, when it's not
maximized, by putting your mouse over the Title Bar of the window, holding
down your right-click mouse button, and then drag the window. The Title Bar
is way up at the top of the window, with the close (red X), minimize, etc.
buttons in it. You can also try re-sizing the window, to have it fit on
your screen the way you like.
If you still don't see the Status Bar, in the Toolbar, go to Organize >
Layout, and put a check next to Menu Bar. From the Menu Bar, choose View,
and then put a check next to Status Bar. You may also want to go to
Organize > Layout, and choose Details Pane.

You've don it again, dean-dean.
Great advice, thank you.
Just what I needed, Vista-novice jumping from W98SE.
Saved me hours of trial & error.
Ciao,
Maria
