Folder Redirection Changed & now problems arise

Folder redirection is a user setting, so after you do a gpupdate /force, you
have to log out then back in. I'm guessing you've probably done that, and
if so, the first thing to do is to check the workstation's system and
application logs for errors involving group policy application. If there
are any, you'll have to troubleshoot from there or post back.

Next, take a look in the GPMC on the SBS and make sure the policy is linked
to the OU containing the users. It seems unlikely that the wizard would
have missed on this, but if you've moved users out of the default OU or
something like that, you may not be applying the GPO to the users in
question.

The next thing I'd do is to go to a workstation where you're seeing the
incorrect redirection setting. Go to Start -> Run and type "rsop.msc"
without the quotes. It'll bring up a result showing all group policies
applied to that computer and user account. Look in the results to see if
you can find which policy is applying the wrong setting, and you'll be able
to fix it.

Thanks Dave for pointing the finger in the right direction...

Users have never been moved from default locations on the SBS 2003 R2
Server.

I did run RSOP on the workstation and I found that ALL the folders were
redirected as I told the GPO to do EXECPT the My documents folder. My
documents still points back to the old server name as seen in RSOP. And you
can't edit RSOP because it says it is getting the information from GPO sbs
server folder rediection. (That is not exactly what it says but you get the
idea don't you?


Looking at the GPO report, the Server says it is redirecting to:
Path: \\%HOMESHARE%%HOMEPATH%

RSOP is just the results - you can't act on them directly in that console.
But you should be able to edit the GPO directly in the group policy editor
on the SBS. It sounds like you know how to do it but if not post back (just
set the root path in the gpo to \\servername\sharename).
