I have a ton of videos in varying formats (MPG/AVI/MOV/etc. etc. etc.). For
some reason I have lost the ability to seek or fast forward *some* of these
videos. So basically if I want to get to the 5 minute mark, it's going to
take me 5 minutes to get there. I know for a fact that some of these exact
files used to have this ability, so my guess is it's something else. I'm
attempting playback with WMP11. Is there a common cause for this?

Thanks

That's perfectly standard for any file that is not WMV. You haven't lost
the ability, you never had it.

You're implying that WMV is the only video file type in existence that
allows you to seek? Or are you being a nit?

If you're using WMP, that's how it works on my XP Pro, XP MCE, XP x64,
Windows 20043 and Vista Ultimate PCs. WMP 10 and 11. Maybe if you have an
older version of WMP it's different.
