Post subject: External DVD RW drive no longer recognized Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>hardware (more info?)
I purchased a Sony DRX-830U DVD drive in February of this year, used it once,
and then didn't even try to access again until 10 days ago. Windows XP
Professional no longer recognizes it.
Per the Sony customer support line, I detached it from my desktop and
attached it to my laptop (same OS). The drive was recognized and works.
All my other USB-connected devices work fine. As I mentioned, the DVD drive
worked once. I am stumped.
