Post subject: COM + Event System detecetd Error
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>windowsxp>general (more info?)

Hi -

I am receiving the same error reported by Diane and Wyndam previously
(occurs almost daily)

The COM+ Event System detected a bad return code during its internal
processing. HRESULT was C0000005 from line 44 of
d:\qxp_slp\com\com1x\src\events\tier1\eventsystemobj.cpp. Please contact
Microsoft Product Support Services to report this error.

The Event ID asspciated with this message is 4609.
Category 50

When this occurs the system reboots itself.

I have XP Home edition so i do not have visibility to some of the
prermissions setting referred to in the previous threads.

Can someone give me a good set of instructions on how to fix this?

(Note I used to have Norton Go Back v4 installed but read that it may cause
this issue as well. I have removed it but the issue persists.)

Thanks for any help.
