I am remotely administering a workgroup that consists of four WinXP sp2
machines, a networked laserjet 5N printer & a networked Colorjet 2605. The
PC's & printers are attached to an 8 port switch, DHCP is provided by a
Draytek Vigor router. The IP addresses for the printers are static.
Three users can print to the Colorjet with no problems. One user cannot
print anything, be it a test page or from Word Excel etc. When a print job is
submitted, it sits in the queue for 30 seconds and then shows an "error"
status. When this printer was installed & configured (about two weeks ago)
ALL users were able to print to it. This one user has just started having an
issue with it.
I have made sure that the spooler & RPC services are running on the affected
machine, I have uninstalled / reinstalled the printer numerous times, tried
different drivers, made sure there is no software firewall running. The
printer is installed as a local printer on each machine using a standard TCP
/IP port.
The user has admin rights to their machine.
Is there anything else I can try / need to consider?
