I can't send emails and am still receiving email. Error message as follows:

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'shona.osborne@paulsadlerswimland.com]'.

Carla, go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Advanced,
then uncheck the SSL option.

Hi Carla, one more setting to fix:
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
Enable the "My server requires authentication" option.

Gary, thanks again, I enabled "my server requires authentication' and got
the following message while trying to resend another message remaining in the
outbox.

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining

Edit the email address that you are sending to, and remove the "]" from the
end of it.

Move the message from your Outbox to Drafts, Copy the contents to a new
mail, give it a Subject address it and send.

The original is still trying to send with the previous settings.

Hello Steve
I moved the message from Outbox to Drafts, Copied the contents to a new
mail, gave it a Subject, addressed it and hit send. I then rec'd this error
message

Subject 'skull', Account: 'Windows Mail', Server: 'outgoing.verizon.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC17

Yes, so she did, missed that sorry.

I am sick of thread hijacking.

It is time that we as a team refused to answer "me too" posts, and advised
only to start a new thread.

That sounds like trying to achieve the Holy Grail of correct Usenet
posting etiquette. Smile
I used to be more idealistic about this, but I've learned that most
posters here are first timers to Usenet, unaware of its conventions.
They're desperate for a quick answer that will fix their urgent problem.
If instead all they get is a lecture, the less persistent ones will
just go away, disappointed and angry.
