EVRYTHING IS OPENING WITH THE WRONG SOFT WARE

I was recently updating one of my games on my laptop and i opened this file
and now everything now opens with my game, for example if go to run internet
explorer or microsoft office i will get my game load up and nothin else this
is with every peice of software on my laptop.

i'm really puzzled im just hoping its something simple and whether any one
can help with this dilema cows i need it for my uni work thanks.

the game btw is football manager 2008

It sounds like a file association problem..do a system restore to before the
update.
